Why me? Have you ever found yourself asking this question? What I mean is, have you ever found yourself questioning your qualifications for a role for which you’ve been chosen? Why would someone pick me to take up a certain job, what qualifications do I have that would say, “Hey, I’m the perfect man for (insert random task here).” Continue reading “Why me?”

Admonition – Why We Hate It/Why We Need It
My daughter, Giana, is five years old and attends pre-k. One of the disciplines she is currently trying to master is writing her name. It’s progressing from looking like sideways squiggles that take up half a page to something that sort of actually looks like “Giana”. Continue reading “Admonition – Why We Hate It/Why We Need It”
Finding Christ in the Chaos
As students, we have multiple responsibilities that constantly hang over our heads. There is always a school assignment due, a practice to attend, a deadline to meet, or a relationship to maintain. Continue reading “Finding Christ in the Chaos”
Expecting the Unexpected
The Lord provides – often in the most unexpected ways. In chapter 22 of the Old Testament book of Genesis, we can read part of Abraham’s story. God had asked Abraham to make an unimaginable sacrifice – his son Isaac, whom he loved dearly. Continue reading “Expecting the Unexpected”

That Which Is God’s
Have you ever found yourself dormant and inactive in your walk with God? More often than not, I find myself in situations in which I concern myself with me more than with God. What clothes am I wearing today? How much caffeine must I consume to stay awake in physics? Continue reading “That Which Is God’s”
Kicking Off My Flip-Flops
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:3
This gem of a verse was one of the first that I committed to memory as an adult. It’s one of those “hit you in the gut” verses that can really make you feel the need for Christ’s forgiveness on a daily (ok, hourly) basis. As a mom of four, there are rarely days when I don’t have to put the needs of another ahead of my own. You have to count a baby as more significant than yourself, or he/she won’t survive. Continue reading “Kicking Off My Flip-Flops”
Buck Fever
Fall is my favorite time of the year! The colors are eccentric, and the change from hot weather to a more mild temperature is exhilarating. I also enjoy football, especially the camaraderie and rivalry that can be so much fun. There is, however, a season that I look forward to even more every year – deer season.
